Celebrating Our Current Apprentices
Apprenticeships are a terrific way to start a career, whether you are just finishing school or want a change. Below are a couple of examples of apprentices at NMB Minebea.
Zak El-bakali – Computer Numerical Control Machine Setter and Operator Apprentice
Zak started as an apprentice at NMB in September 2019 after he applied for the apprenticeship via the government website. He wanted this apprenticeship as he wanted to gain experience working in the industry of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining.
Zak said: “I’ve had the opportunity to gain qualifications and experience operating CNC machinery, all while training and getting paid.
“I find working at NMB interesting. Advice I would give to someone considering an apprenticeship would be to find an apprenticeship that best suits you.”
Dylan Lee – Computer Numerical Control Machine Operator Apprentice
Dylan found the NMB apprenticeship on the government apprenticeships site. He chose to apply for the apprenticeship at NMB because it was a large factory with plenty of opportunities to learn about multiple aspects of engineering, and he got the position in August 2019.
Dylan said: “Working as an apprentice at NMB is very good, it is a compassionate environment where everyone is happy to help others struggling with tasks.
“I have gained lots of experience in a variety of areas in engineering. An apprenticeship is a great way to gain experience while gaining qualifications.”
