Apprenticeships are an amazing opportunity to gain a qualification whilst earning valuable workplace experience at the same time. National Apprenticeship Week celebrates alternative education routes and how they provide opportunities to gain further qualifications.

With many of NMB-Minebea’s (NMB) former apprentices progressing to key positions within the business, apprenticeships are a great pathway into a career.

Two of our current apprentices, Leon and Filip, have explained what they enjoy about their apprenticeships and why they chose us to do their training with NMB.

Leon Clarke – Engineering Operative Apprenticeship

Leon chose an Engineering Operative apprenticeship with NMB over the traditional classroom environment for further education. With the hands-on experience offered by an apprenticeship, he preferred to learn on-the-job, rather than sitting in a classroom.

Leon said: “Gaining practical experience alongside learning as a part of the job, prepares you for the real-life environment.”

He was interested in gaining his qualification with NMB as he felt there were opportunities to work with various departments and learn a wide set of valuable skills.

Filip Kerzawina – Finance Apprenticeship

Filip was looking to develop his experience from a previous business qualification and felt that an apprenticeship in Finance with NMB would allow him to develop personally and professionally.

Filip said: “Taking a hands-on approach by learning in the workplace has helped me to prepare for the future, to understand what is expected of me as an employee and taught me how to interact with others in the workplace environment.”

“With NMB Minebea having sister companies across the world, the opportunity to interact with staff from within the wider business was a beneficial factor to supporting developing my industry skills.”
