Supply Chain Administrator/Expeditor
Salary Range: Grade 6 (£22,687) – Grade 7 (£23,555) per annum, dependant on experience.
Description of Position
- Working within a mainly aerospace manufacturing environment
- Part of a small team with a shared responsibility for a combined annual spend of >£21’000’000
- Expedite information and deliveries to/from multiple Suppliers to ensure that performance meets business metrics
- Ensuring Business requirements relating to Quality, Cost and Delivery of purchased products are achieved
Main Responsibilities and Activities
- Responsibility for all aspects of workflow related to the Raw Material Purchasing operation
- Expedite activities / items at various approved vendors to meet the manufacturing requirement as defined by the Raw Materials Manager
- Raise Purchase Orders for operations
- Liaise with Suppliers on a regular basis to ensure supplier performance is in line with NMB expectations
- Maintain the upkeep of accurate information in relation to:
- Material Suppliers
- Overall Vendor performance
- Communicate information to relevant parties, (both internal and external)
- Represent the department at meetings
- Work within budgetary requirements
- Proactively identify, communicate and implement corrective action plans when schedule goes ‘off-target’
- As the Purchasing Administrator you will;
- Monitor and report on supplier capabilities
- Be responsible for expediting purchase orders to ensure the delivery of products are met
- Contact suppliers to resolve possible shortages, missed or late deliveries and any other discrepancies
- Review overdue orders, notifying of any significant delays from suppliers
- Assist with product replenishment, matching inventory levels with the needs of our customers
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Supply Chain background preferred
- IT Literate – ideally IT qualification
- English and Mathematics – GCSE or above
- Polite but forthright telephone manner
- Positive outlook with the personality and drive to achieve results
- Full driving licence preferable but not essential
