Salary Range: Grade 8 (£26,041) – Grade 10 (£27,993) per annum, dependent upon experience

Description of Position

  • Production planning and administrative support

Main Responsibilities and Activities

  • Planning, scheduling and coordinating production.
  • Work with the planning team to develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Evaluating raw material and all other bill of material requirements to ensure everything is in place to meet production requirements.
  • Reporting any issues associated with the plan to the Head of production planning.
  • Support customer services where necessary with customer delivery schedules.
  • Evaluate production and supplier performance, recommend improvement to any areas which are directly impacting the planning process/performance.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust production schedules as needed.
  • Other tasks including but not limited to –
    • Management of the MRP system and all associated actions.
    • Allocate and launch Manufacturing orders of stocked material and carry out effective management of ‘Can Be Made’ report.
    • Support when required the planning administrator.
    • Creating a variety of orders on the system and launching straight into production.  Ensuring the correct style of order is used, such as split batches, Free Issue Orders, Proving and RBR Orders.
    • Liaising with other departments for guidance and instructions on making unique amendments to orders and paperwork.
    • Perform BOM amendments when additional items are required to be issued to an order or alternative stock is to be allocated.
    • To action drawing and routing amendments as instructed by the Drawing Office. Ensuring the latest information is updated on the system and is reflected on paperwork.
    • Work with daily reports to ensure data on the system is correct and accurate. Carrying out investigations into transaction anomalies and correct as required.
    • Assist with accurate stocking and traceability of all products, through investigation into the system and into manufacturing orders to identify any transaction errors.
    • Assist with the running of the annual stock take for the site. Including, preparation leading up to the actual count, entering data accurately for the final stock take report, through to assisting with investigating and correcting anomalies.

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience with MRP systems (Manufacturing Resource Planning)
  • Structured approach.
  • Good Communication Skills,
  • Computer and Data Literate,
  • Basic Mathematics combined with Analytical & Logical approach, allowing for flexible methods of working.
  • Target orientated
  • Diligent
