Salary Range: Grade 7 (£23,555) per annum
Description of Position
Material / Goods In Receipt
- Responsibility for receipt and associated documentation in relation to booking of material, BU and BOP parts.
- Responsibility for receipt and associated documentation in relation to booking all Consumable Tooling and Sundry items and paperwork
Material / Goods In Control
- Receipt, control and distribution of items and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
Free Issue and Customer Returned Product
Responsible for receipt and initial bookings of Customer returned product
Material Despatch
- Allocation of MAT02 Orders
General
- Unloading and loading of carriers
- Work towards specific KPIs ensuring business requirements relating to Quality, Cost and Delivery of purchased products / deliverables are achieved.
- Support the team in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Main Responsibilities and Activities
Supporting the Goods Inwards Senior Team Member in the elements listed below, (and standing in during holiday absence)
Material Receipt / Goods In Receipt
- Responsibility for receipt and associated documentation in relation to booking of material, BU and BOP parts.
- Responsibility for receipt and associated documentation of Consumable and Sundry items.
- Booking from ‘dock’ to ‘stock’ as directed by ‘work-to-lists’, within an agreed timeframe, (and highlighting corrective actions where timeframe is not met)
- Confirmation of Chemical and Mechanical results against NMB requirements
- Documentation of activity through use of ‘Shop-Tools’ to ensure data accuracy
Material / Goods In Control
- All aspects relating to the receiving of goods and raw materials
- Assigning / control of batch numbers
- Movement and storage of material, BU and BOP parts within the required timeframe
- Consumable Tooling / Sundry Items
- Receipt, control and distribution of items and paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Ensuring the area(s) are organised whereby material is clearly identifiable/segregated, and workplace organisation and visual management can be clearly demonstrated
Customer Returned Product
- Responsible for receipt and initial bookings of Customer returned product
Material Despatch
- Confirming accuracy of documentation, (M Order / Material Batch Number)
- Cutting of material as defined in part-number routings
- Prioritisation of work as directed by ‘work-to-lists’, (incorporating additional requests by Operations Management)
- Documentation of activity through ‘Shop-Tools’ ensuring accurate data
- Issuing completed work-packages to subsequent operations, (ensuring in all cases weight limits and packaging requirements are met)
- Test piece manufacture (Initial saw operation)
- Allocation of MAT02 Orders
- Issue of Bar / Billet / Forging from Material allocation to subsequent operation, (covering internal and sub-contract operations)
- Packing of issued material, if required to UK and worldwide destinations.
General
- Safely and efficiently managing the loading and unloading of carriers
- The transportation of goods internally, ensuring traceability of receipt as applicable
- Supporting the team generally to ensure all KPI’s are met
- Identifying opportunities for improvement within the department
- Carrying out ‘team-training’ within skill-sets
- Carrying out various hands-on operations across all skill sets to support team objectives
- Support the team in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Safety
- Ensuring safe working practices are adhered to at all time
- Identifying any elements for improvement

Experience and Qualifications *(Training provided for suitable candidate)
Computer Literate
- Demonstrate an understanding of all Mapics/Browser/Intellichief screens relative to carrying out all tasks as described within the Job Description*
- Use of Microsoft Office to support completion of clerical and administrative tasks in a timely and efficient manner
Equipment. Operate / Set-Operate the following;
- Fork-Lift (licence required)*
- Overhead Crane*
- Raw Material Saw*
- Pedestrian Reach Truck Counterbalance (licence required)*
Vocational
- Responsibility for Self-Development
- IT Literate – ideally IT qualification
- English and Mathematics – GCSE or above
- Full driving licence
- Engineering Experience Preferred
