ABS Cell Team Member – Machining

Salary range – Grade 6 (£22,687) to Grade 11 (£29,460) per annum, dependant on experience

Main Responsibilities and Activities

  • Turning various materials (aluminium bronze, stainless-steel, plastic inserts), including initial and finish machining.
  • Milling (mainly drilling and reaming) aluminium and stainless-steel balls.
  • Using multiple types of CNC equipment, such as Nakamura Tome machine centre, Doosan CNC Lathe, Haas CNC lathe and Hass CNC mill.
  • Using inspection equipment such as micrometre’s, calliper’s, comparator’s, form tracer and Keyence vision system.
  • Ensure parts conform to drawings and are processed in the allotted timeframe.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate.
  • Support the area in carrying out alternative tasks as required.
  • Achieving area targets as identified by Production Management.

Desirable

  • NVQ in Engineering manufacture or equivalent / Advanced Modern Apprenticeship
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering environment.
  • English Language and Maths to GCSE grade C or above
  • Computer Literate
  • Experience in the use of standard measurement equipment.
  • Can demonstrate good numeric skills.
